Installing engine parts on painted surfaces
I am finishing the 350 crate engine for my 72. Can I install the exhaust manifolds to painted surface on the engine or should I remove the paint? Same question for oil filter with contact surface on engine painted.

Re: Installing engine parts on painted surfaces
Yes, metal to metal on mating surfaces, with gaskets where required.
