Cool 77 C10 Shorty - Frame Off

So I started here, 77 Chevy C10 Short Bed that the ole man gave me. Engine will be for now until the cash gods pour upon will be a 383 that he built. Perhaps one day I'll get a list of all the parts that are in it. Say the least, it's an engine.

I expanded my parents outdoorish barn garage shop. Added two little concrete projects both around 17x25-30ft.

Then tore out the middle fence,

Added the first section on concrete

Looking upon the concrete that just got poured. The dirt next to the concrete is about to be the next project

Looks good, wide open and plenty of room

Then I decided to add another slab which would be a great added area for storage or a workbench.

After that, had to build a wall.

Time to roll in the Chevy

ohhh lets tear apart

Ordered a fuel cell from boydwelding.com and a M9 Moser rear end and axles (5x5, and I think i twas 31 spline? haha)

Had to slap both the axle and fuel tank up real quick to get an idea.

I also ordered some DJM suspension upper/lower controls arms. Also have a set of c-notch brackets that give a touch more clearance.

I am now in the process of finding someone to weld up a fourlink system into it. I really wanna tackle the project. The shop has plenty of room where I can leave the frame level and take measurements. So for now, its four link planning time.

Things to consider:
Rim size? Tire Size?
A ride height,

As things sit now, frame is on the trailer. Took it to a guy for him to check out the project and possibly weld the four link and brackets. he's too busy. Contacted another guy who does mostly off road racing trucks, sent him some pics and we'll see on his price. Perhaps I should start doing some mockups at home with the frame and end up doing it myself.

Dad made a nice cart for the cab, rolls around so smooth.
The metal in the pic is a driveway gate I welded up real quick. Gotta add some more.

We recently put a 18ft beam and a chain hoist. Might come in handy if I wanna test the cab clearance and anything new.

Trying to find a cheap set of rims and tires. I know some $60 12" trailer wheels would work. Or make some wooden ones from some scrap plywood I have.

Use this template on scarp plywood and use a string attached to the center with a nail then pencil at the other end to mark my outside diameter.

Well of course like all great things, they move at times.

I bought a old 454 that was made i think in july of '76 if I looked up the numbers correctly.

Four link should be getting done soon. Truck will have a four link kit from Moser Engineering, p/n: 7264KCK

Frame before and after sandblasting. Went ahead and disconnected the front crossmember. Sandblasting some other parts as well.

after

Got the four link, brackets and a few minor things coming along. Next up upper coilover mounts and a pair of afco #6855.

Neighbor down the street has 40 years building circle track cars, so he welded for me.
