71 SWB frame Z question

OK guys so my 71 SWB I am going to Z the frame, I have done this on a few other vehicles but I have always done the Z straight up not add an angle with a 1 inch forward, My question is why does everybody Z the frame at an angle to do the 1 inch forward and then in return do I also need to Z the front back 1 inch to compensate for the core support and fender mounting to be correct? I know a lot of people are against doing this to the chassis and on and on but I have done this numerous times but as I stated just straight up cuts so please don’t advise me against it because either way I am doing it LOL. Another question is or not necessarily a question but I see most people are going 3 inch with their Z but due to my wheel and tire combo I think I am only going to go two and 1/2 I am just running weld drag light Skinnys with the backend of the truck step notched with 15 inch wide drag lights. So long story short what is the reasoning for the 1 inch forward and how do I than correct the 1 inch forward on my core support mounts at the front of the frame . Thank you
