Hood Latch Seal

What is the consensus on which way does the lip of the hood latch seal go? Up or down?

Re: Hood Latch Seal

Good info...I had this seal with no idea where it went! LOL :-)

Now the question is how do the clips stay in place? Do the tabs get bent over or something else? If yes, what did you do to bend them over? Thanks

Re: Hood Latch Seal

Squeeze the center, the tabs in the hole will expand outward.

Re: Hood Latch Seal

ok so my original seals on my '61 were stapled to the metal lip of the hood. I assume yours had square holes in it to push the tabs into place? Wonder how to make it work....

Funny thing with those, for ever I couldn't figure out why the paint on my radiator shields kept getting screwed up, then I realized it was that rubber that was doing it.
