squeaky brakes
I have a squeaky brake issue. I thought about greasing it, but thought that may cause me to not stop. ha ha. I have a 79 c10. New rotors, about 4,000 miles on them. Solutions? sand the brakes and rotors?
Also have a squeaky belt when I wind it out. It is really tight. thoughts on this? Grease? ha ha. Sanding it?

Re: squeaky brakes
Squeaking brakes- 9 out of 10 its the pads, some pads are just destined to squeal, I have good luck with Raysbestos or AC Delco
Belt Squeal at high RPM- likely worn pulleys, belt rides too deep in the groove, could try a slightly wider belt |

Re: squeaky brakes
I haven't had squeaky brakes in so long I don't even put goop on the backing plated any more. If it's really bad and won't go away after some regular driving I guess you can put some goop on the backing plates.
