How can you check tachometer to see if it works are not

If its mechanical, a drill and a old wooden match stick should make it register. Make sure it turns clockwise looking at the back.

Just to check to see if it works, you can use test wires. Hook it to the coil and battery then start the engine. This won't allow to check accuracy, but it'll tell you if if works.
When I say accuracy, I just replced my original factory tach, because of the eradic reading. It would read low at idle, but high a cruise speeds. They can be fixed, but a new one can be had for less than $100. I went new |
