Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
I think you may be looking for 60-66 tail gate. Unless your looking for a 55-59 tail gate?

Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
58 to 66 Fleetside tailgates are all the same.
Original one's didn't survive very well as they were the business end of the truck. You're aware new repop one's are available?

Still Looking.
Thanks for your feed back, I feel like those re-pops are very cheaply made and cost a fortune. |

Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
This one is a pretty penny. Really not too bad when I can see a repop runs around $500 delivered
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F253406319097 Or for $350 shipping charge you can have a worse tailgate https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F352388088349 Last edited by mikebte; 07-03-2018 at 08:28 PM. |

Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
And I would think a GMC would run more than a CHEVROLET. Nope, only $250 for a GMC

Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
I have resolved the case! People today are not aware that the tailgate goes to a specified vehicle. They are actually convinced that it is a back rest for a bench seat. So if you do a search for tailgate bench seats, your almost more likely to find the tailgate than you would be searching for the tailgate.

Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
Not bench "seat" but bench "art." They are very popular for that.

Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
I don't think those tailgates would make very comfortable back rests.

Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
Raymond,
Here are some links for you. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cbe/full.aspx?Page=17 http://www.mar-k.com/Catalog/index.aspx?LID=8985 If you don't like these options, you're going to have to do what everybody else does by searching online used parts such as Craig's list and eBay. By the time you find one that's too far away that needs shipping, metal repair you're going to end up paying as much for a new one. Many many tailgates were destroyed in the years these ol' girls were used for what they were made to do...work their asses off, so many gates are beyond repair, if they're not all rusted out. Posting here over and over that you're still looking isn't going to find you one in my opinion. Search other related forums parts for sale sections such as The Stovebolt The HAMB etc. I am speaking from personal experience. I searched for 4 years for a gate and ended up buying a chinese one. Since then, I still haven't seen one for sale in my area that would have been acceptable. Cheers

Re: 59-66 fleet side tailgate
@ FOOT STOMPER Yes, you are correct, however; I thought this website was an avenue where comradery among truck owners is viable. I was not aware that I could not post for help in finding a part or parts that I was seeking. I apologize for perturbing your day with my post.
Thanks for your input. |
