str8 axel lowering

i just aquired a 54 tk that i have been after for sometime now. i have the v8 and trans mounts in place, and i have a p/s kit on the way but i do want to lower the truck aboit 1-2". ihad someone here looking at my 53 sedan delivery in selling and he told me to pull the 2 lower(smaller) leaves out of the springs which is fine for me to do but im wandering if it will lower it to much. the guys at Brothers told i would be ok w/ the p/s kit as long as i dont lower it more then 2" has aynoe done this trick w/ the spring

Yep you can remove leaves but the bigger problem is with the P/steering. Any kind of oversize tire and it will rub the inside of the left front tire on a hard right hand turn. With a stock steering box and a shortened pitman arm the truck will steer about as well. When you remove leafs make sure you have about 3 inches from the frame to spring at rid height. Ditch the rubber snubbers.
Did you put exh manifolds on yet?

i already did take the 2 lower(smaller) leaves out and put the p/s on. Im using the block hugger headers and have mocked up the exhaust its pretty much a str8 shot going back
