1971 External fuel pump

I have a 71 Blazer that we just restored. It has the 350 carb. motor. What are the options for a electric external fuel pump. It has one on it from the previous owner but is really loud. thanks for the help.

Re: 1971 External fuel pump

You can do anything from a cheapy at the parts store to a high dollar Holley or Aeromotive... as far as it being quiet... how and where is the current one attached? If its in a steel bracket attached to the body or frame you could try getting a different bracket with a rubber or foam insulator?

Re: 1971 External fuel pump

I think the noise is from the mechanical functioning of the pump rather from vibration. Didn't know if any one knew of one or not. Its located on the frame at the rear next to the tank. Thanks

Ah that could be too... I think most of them are noisy unless they are in tank... the fuel dulls the sound...

Re: 1971 External fuel pump

I have an external electric fuel pump on my Jeepster; only hear it when it primes up before starting. I'll try and attach a pic if it helps (looks a little greasy down there; better clean that up!)........
