Throttle Cable bracket

My 72 Blazer with a manual 4 speed, had been fitted with an Edelbrock Intake and an Edelbrock 4bbl carb by the previous owner and ran fine until the engine needed rebuilding... Somewhere along the way, the bracket for the throttle cable came up missing. Now my mechanic (not the rebuilder) has the engine in but is at a loss to find a bracket to secure the throttle cable to the engine.
I would think that there are adaptable brackets that should work but one would think a mechanic would be able to figure that out. It's been a month with no luck and my blazer is still sitting in the shop. I've suggested he replace the throttle cable or any thing else that might work
Any ideas that would help me out? I'd appreciate any input to get it on the road before winter hits.

Re: Throttle Cable bracket

Did they reuse the stock throttle cable? Pictures of what you have would probably be a big help.

Re: Throttle Cable bracket

Summit and Jegs both sell the correct bracket:

https://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/8036/10002/-1

And if your mechanic is this good at finding solutions to simple problems, you might want to look around for another mechanic. Just sayin'...

Re: Throttle Cable bracket

It does have the original throttle cable... but I don't have any photos handy. The Blazer is miles from here right now. I will check out Jegs and Summit.. Thanks.

Wink Re: Throttle Cable bracket

After sending my mechanic the web sites I was given, I called my mechanic. They never checked their emails and he has put a bracket on and is said to be almost finished.
He's a good mechanic but communication skills isn't one of his strong suits...
