Missing body line?
So I picked up this short bed that is pretty straight and rust free.but..... always a but. The drivers side is missing the body line in the fender opening. Trying to figure out if it is a crap re pop or if the body changed somewhere along the line. It was driving me nuts that it wasn't there so I took a wire wheel to it to see if some meat head bondoed over it. But it is just not there.

Re: Missing body line?
Sorry I just realized how confusing that pic is. The bed is upside down on my car trailer. Here is another picture a little farther away.

Re: Missing body line?
Older aftermarket wheel arch? I bought cheaper repair patches that didn't have the bead detail

Re: Missing body line?
I thought the same thing. But because it is upside down I can see all the way up into the bed and it has never been welded on. i guess I am just trying to see if any one else has had this issue and what they did about it.

Re: Missing body line?
I was confused at first so I went and looked at my new aftermarket bed to see what you were referring to.
The new bed has the indented bead on the corner of the arch. Never noticed till you said something though. |

Re: Missing body line?
Someone did a ton of nice body work to get those bigger tires in there. Is it the same on both sides or did you just have one panel?
If I had both I would just run with it. |

Re: Missing body line?
I have seen lower patch panels without the indented bead body line. Can you tell if it has had the whole bed side replaced? Maybe repop bedsides where made at one time without that original feature.

Re: Missing body line?
Damn. I thought you were on to something. It's not a patch panel. Looks like the whole bed side was replaced. If I run it I am just curious how noticable that would be. Ugh over this truck lol
