305 to 350 motor swap question
I am going to be putting in a 350 motor that will replace my 305 in my 85 GMC. I need to get some new pulleys as some of the ones on the current motor are not the original equipment. I need to order a water pump pulley and a crank shaft pulley. In the LMC catalog, they offer 2 & 3 groove crank pulley and a 1 & 2 groove water pump pulley. I will be running A/C and need to know which combination of the two that will work together. I called LMC and they didn't offer much help. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks, Rick Last edited by rikoshea83; 09-06-2018 at 11:51 AM. |

Re: 305 to 350 motor swap question
I recently pulled my original drive system off my 85 (350) w/ factory air. Here's a pic of it before it all came off (minus a/c). If your interested in it, let me know. Complete OEM system (upper/ lower pulley, alternator, ps, ac brackets).

Re: 305 to 350 motor swap question
My 75 with 350 and PS/AC has a 3 belt main, 2 belt WP, 2 belt PS, 1 belt AC, and 1 belt Alt.
AC belt also runs in 1 of the PS grooves. For extra fun, the main has 2 the same and 1 larger. The WP has 2 sizes as well. Mine has the older style long AC compressor instead of the newer pancake version. |

Re: 305 to 350 motor swap question
LMC can get expensive. I just did a motor swap and got a lot of parts from rock auto and amazon. Just FYI. Good luck on your swap!
