Oem valves or as close as possible needed for 1987 350 heads

Machine shop put in used unmatched set on valves and lost my originals which was fine.

I am wanting to put all new valves as I don't like the mismatched set in them after getting them back. If I cannot get the exact ones that came in it could someone please direct me to the most like for like set. thank you!

This is a very weird request. What exactly is mis-matching about the valves? My bet is they are all oem style valves. All stock replacements are the most like oem you can get. Anything else is a lot more money and a machine shop wouldn't waste those on a person not paying for them.....

What I mean is I gave him the heads with gem valves that was not bent. I got back valves from other vehicles that are different shapes and mismatched I do not like this and want a new set.

what do you recommend? what they do is just pull from a bin of used cleaned valves that fit and just pop in a valve not caring it wasn't the valves that came out of my heads.

it was a Napa shop and a half A job if you ask me I wouldn't do that.

This is for 1.94 intake valves. Not sure what size your head takes but, this should help you get an idea of cost.

Besides the face dia you need to know the stem dia of the ex valves. They come 3/8" & 11/32".

Re: Oem valves or as close as possible needed for 1987 350 heads

I brought a head into a machine shop a few years ago to get it checked out, I had 1 bad valve, he had a used one on hand, cleaned it up, lapped it to the seat, and it worked great. No reason to change all of them for 1 or 2 mismatched valves. If they are in there, they must be the correct size, what exactly are you worried that is going to happen with the ones that they replaced?

These look spot on to my orignials much closer than what he put back in it. Some are 100% flat some have a perfect round circle dish etc but these pictured if they are actually as pictured are very close to was in them originally.

Someone mentioned stem size anyone know for sure which stem size would be in an 87 5.7 350 before I order these?

Should be 11/32" unless the heads are from a HD2500 or 3500 5.7.

The exhaust valves had 3/8" stems on these.

What is the casting numbers on your heads?

Hey, sorry I am just now seeing this. The heads are 14102193 if I got that right. Are you sure the stems not 11/32 on both?

original valves looked like the ones in this video. Just a smooth edge into the dished area. I received wrong ones back some exhaust ones perfectly flat etc.
