66 Suburban - Some license light love

Decided to give the license plate light some attention. The only new parts used was a new LED light and light-socket pigtail assembly. I already had everything else (wiring connectors, primer, paint, gasket material).

Re: 66 Suburban - Some license light love

This is my next project on 66 Burb 4x4. I'm not sure what i need because i have not removed anything yet. Good job though lots of light given off. So the LED works perfectly fine. I was wondering if I should only use LEDs for all my lights.

If improved lighting is the goal it's hard to beat LED. Long life, less load on the system, less heat generated and of course improved lighting. There are a few things to consider if going to all LED, for example the dimmer switch for dash lights will not work without using something like the below:

If LED's are used for the turn indicators you will need an LED specific flasher. There is a lot of info about all this on this board.
