C-Notch kit in leaf spring truck with flip kit setting axle back one inch?
I’m using a DJM axle flip kit on my 1968 GMC. Want to do a c notch as well. The kit sets the axle back 1 inch. Will a pre made c notch kit like CPP etc. fit? Wondering if the offset to the rear not allow the axle tube to line up with the kit? The kits are shaped to match the wave of sorts in the frame rails probably not allowing for front to rear adjustments. Anyone used one?

I used the exact kit you have in a 68 GMC . I installed the flip kit, put the axel in set the truck down then lined the notch up above axel. I made a cardboard template to trace the notch and then cut the frame It fit the frame just fine. Sorry I don't have pic.

Mine is also the CPP C-Notch but in a '72 C20 with leaf springs. Just install it as per the instructions. The coil spring trailing arm trucks' axel also moves back as the truck is lowered. I lowered my truck to get the stance right and marked axle centerline. Then mocked up where the C-Notch would be installed. As you can see in the pics, it falls right on centerline. I also made reinforcement plates for both the inside and outside of the main c-notch bracket. There is also the bolt that holds the upper shock mount that you will have to layout and drill. Take your time and double check all measurements and you'll be fine. Support your truck both in front of and behind the axle.

Thought you'd like to see the finished product. We'll do a little prep and then do the MIG work.

Looks like mine— I also chose to weld after bolting it together.

Nice! I'm also adding helper bags for loads and towing.

Thanks for the great pictures. I’m working on my 71 c10 now with leaf spring setup as well.
