Another window seal question, or Mod??
Been reading about the window seals on a different thread, but thought I would start my own.
Here are the facts: My windows rattle.. It is really annoying.. The seals are fairly new.. The doors aren't spread.. Question: I've been looking at newer car and truck scrapers, and they appear to be wider. With the extra width it looks like putting one on both sides of the window (like current vehicles) would securely hold the window in place. NO RATTLE!! Has anyone tried to adapt and cut down newer seals to our windows?? It looks like it shouldn't be too hard of a mod. What do y'all think???

I think that your window rattle is caused by something other than the window fuzzies/scrapers. I would check the rollers in the guides.
The front and rear verticle seals hold the window firmly in place. We have been running one of our trucks without fuzzies and the windows do not move or rattle. Jim |

Are your window side channels new? if they are not tight your windows will move alot. The bottom scraper and fuzzy are mostly a weather seal, but they all act together.
Also, I second the motion that the window regulators are worn. Those parts will rattle like a son of a gun.

Can you guys post pics of the window regulators?? I roll the window a little down and the rattles all go away. I roll the window up all the way and the window ratles like crazy. The seals were all supposedly replaced before I got the truck and they didn't rattle when I bought it. The window does slide back and forth about 1 inch when I roll the window down. I don't think it used to do this. Thanks for your responses!!
