I installed a CPP rear disc brakes kit on my 68. Everything fits fine except the brake pads are tight on the rotor, hard to turn the wheel by hand. Any ideas? thanks, Larry

I'm not familiar with the kit you are using but with the Wilwood's and Baer's I have installed there are spacers. Correctly installed the spacers center the caliper on the disk. If your not centered then one pad may be bottomed out. Pull the pads and measure the gap between the disc and each pads seat and compare them. Then measure the pad thickness and compare that measurement with the gap measurements.

P.S. Does your kit have an E- brake? Is it completely released?

I put the same kit on my 68. . I remember that the rotors did not fit the axles. There’s a small ridge on the axle center section that prevents the rotor from fully sitting flush. It would go together but I couldn’t turn the wheel until it was fixed. Then bleeding it was also very difficult.

no problems with the rotors. they fit & turn fine. when I add the brake pads, then it's hard to turn

Are the pistons pushed all the way into the calipers???

Have you looked at the directions. I put the spacers on mine and then found out I didn't need them. They tell you in the directions you need them but if you call their tech line they say only if you need them.

Good luck and hope you have better luck with this kit than I did. I'm going on 3 years with it and well it's just not nothing like I expected it to be.

calipers are new but I'll check the pistons. did not use spacers. thanks for the help, Larry

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
