Fender seals
I ordered a set of fender seals for my '57. I didnt take this truck apart and didnt see any of the seals it came with. The set came with 3 different seals, i understand the U shaped 1 that goes on the back of the inner fender and the thin ones that look to go where the inner and outer bolt together. Cant seem to figure out where this one goes, any ideas?

Re: Fender seals
It goes around your door.
They don't have the correct one so they send you that. I have the same thing. The only place to use it, it will be seen where the door and fender meet. Or you have to weld a strip of steel on to glue it to. |

Re: Fender seals
I'm not real sure this is right, but I plan to use weatherstrip adhesive (or contact cement) to glue the "U" channel to the front corner of the brace on the fender, top to bottom. I sure hope it doesn't mess up my door-to-fender alignment, or I'll be tearing it back off. Any experience with this?

Re: Fender seals
weather strip sealant is the right product.Black or good spray adhesive will work
Second counting from back of fender goes on back of inner fender. First one goes inside of fender by door Last edited by sack54; 12-25-2018 at 02:04 PM. |
