Lower Radiator hose
When I took my 1950 3100 apart, I tossed my radiator hoses. I ordered new ones figuring they needed to be replaced. Ordered new ones from LMC or Brothers or someplace and the lower is wrong. Upper radiator openings both require 1.25” ID hose. Lower is 1.25 at the radiator but 1.5” at the water pump. THe hose I got is 1.25 at both ends.
I assume this is due to the engine being swapped to a 235 at some point. Anyone know what the right hose is? |

Re: Lower Radiator hose
I thought about this and remeasured. Radiator top and thermostat housing are 1.25 ID. Lower radiator is 1.5 ID and water pump is 2". My upper is fine. Just need to find a lower that is right. The lower I got from LMC is 1.5 on both ends. Fits the radiator, but not the pump

Re: Lower Radiator hose
I don't like them but I had to use a flex hose for the same reason when I put the 250 in my truck with the stock radiator.
Or and you can buy this locally a radiator hose adapter. https://www.amazon.com/Gates-26390-H...r+hose+adapter They sell those for some of the one size fits several applications radiators for late model cars. I'd use two hose clamps on it on that end though. That lets you use your hose and be done with it.

Re: Lower Radiator hose
Thanks Mr48
Kinda figured that out during my search but was wondering if anyone else had sourced a "formed unit" |
