Disc Brake front Brake lines
Hi, Im almost done with the actual mounting of the disc brakes. Im having a problem adapting the new rubber hoses from the calibers to the block at the drivers side existing junction block where the line from the master goes into and out of to the passanger side. The block has a bongo bolt going though it to the original rubber line. Does anyone have any ideas to resolve this issue? thanks

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
got a pic?
what do you need to do for clearance issues, a 90 deg fitting? the banjo bolt is prolly as skinny as a 90 deg fitting. |

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
I will send a picture tonight but the problem is really that the bango bolt that comes though the junction block is to small for the hose.

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
If you look at the first the silver line comes from the proportion valve. The one on the other side goes to the passenger side and the middle is where the bango bolt pictured goes though to the rubber line. The problem is that the bango bolt is to small for the new rubber line.

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
you may need a different junction block or a correct hose.....did the banjo bolt fit your block before?...

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
The bango bolt went though the junction block into the old line.

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
or did you mean this?
(The bango bolt went though the old line into the junction block ) what is the difference between the new line and your old line? is it the size of banjo bolt hole?

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
Im sorry, The bango bolt went though the junction block into the old rubber line to the orinal drum. The original rubber line came from the drum into the frame and the u clip held in into the frame. The tee with bango bolt went though the tee into the rubber line from the drum. The line coming from the proportion valve (silver in picture) went into one side of the tee and the other came out and goes to the othe side of truck to the passenger side.

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
Which calipers are you using? It may be simpler to find a rubber flex hose for the caliper that has a banjo bolt on the caliper end and a more conventional fitting on the end that goes to the hard line.

Re: Disc Brake front Brake lines
Update, I reduced the size of the rubber line that come though the frame from 7/16ths to 3/8th 24 and used the tee that was already there pictured with new washers. I will send a few pictures in the next few days. I made a new line to the passenger side because I twisted the old one. I made the line with a 7/16th fitting on the end so I didn't have to modify the passenger side. All the lines are in but couldn't bleed the system as Im waiting for the proportioning valve bleeding tool to come in the mail.Keep all updated. thanks Again
