anybody doing a ls with a code 504 kit and have suggestion for the air cleaner ? seems like it is very tight. Not sure how to add pic from my phone

A pic would really help. I don't have the 504 kit but my intake was a tight fit to the radiator. So I ordered a short radius intake hose like this

I'm thinking that is a that style of Fi Issue that every one on here who runs one no matter what the chassis is deals with. You look though the photos of trucks with this fi setup and you see nearly as many different setups for filters and air intakes as you see trucks.

Here's a pic of the tight 90 hose. I have added a fan shroud since so it's actually a little closer now.

I used a SPAL low profile, I think this is it:

I guess I should also mention I cut the top off my core support and moved the radiator forward. Still need to make a new bolt on top, but I'm busy with several other projects right now.

Very nice overall install. What did you use to trim out where the intake runs through the inner fender?

That's just black pinch welt. Should be able to get some at any auto upholstery shop.

My filter is in front of the tire in a custom built box. Then I cut a hole in the front of the inner fender (behind the grill) for air. This probably wouldn't work well for a truck that's really low. There's not a lot of room form my tire to the filter box.

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
