In cab gas tank
Has anyone used either a Dorman or Key replacement gas tank? I was hoping someone would have some feedback on any issues. Thank you.

Re: In cab gas tank
Thanks for the info glad to hear the fit was good. Mine had been sitting outside with the cap off for who knows how long lots of rust. The neck was boogered up too. I ordered the Key one this morning having a sale $140.00 delivered. Will give a review this week when I test fit.

Re: In cab gas tank
I think you went the best direction. Dorman is great when there is no new part alternative. But I think of them for replacement quality parts and Key Parts for restoration quality parts. It could be they are the same part. It's not always to find that out.

Re: In cab gas tank
I was going to try and save it but when I seen the neck that was it. The tank is supposed to be here tomorrow. Getting hammered here with ice and snow. They already warned me probably delayed. The cab has been on the cab stand 2 years so I don't think another day is going to matter too much. Thanks for the comment Tim.

Re: In cab gas tank
Did you buy the tank direct from them or through a vendor?

Re: In cab gas tank
Well tank showed up yesterday neck damaged and pushed in. Called Whitney for return and they tell me I have to pay return shipping. But it would be refunded on their inspection. Went around with them about 5 minutes then it got a little ugly. Waiting on supervisor to call me back today. Hopefully I will be able to understand him.
