Re: Show us where you work on your trucks, Shop tour Thread

Mine is not much, like a 4car garage with a wall in the middle. One side for the car and truck, the other half has a single garage door and my little shop.

Changed since the photo was taken. Got it all insulated except for one wall before winter hit. 1/8" x 60" x 120" aluminum sheets on the ceiling , 5/8" plywood on the walls.. I live on the mezzanine left of the suspended cab. Glass garage door leads to a small deck in the future. Radiant floor on the mezzanine and in the garage floor. 760sqft with average 16ft ceiling. Not finished but it's all paid for.

You won't be the only one by a long shot. I could work in my garage, but I have too many parts in there including my new engine. Once I install the engine I hope to be able to work in the garage some...but right now...it's all shade tree mechanic for me...and there is a small shade tree.

This is where I usually work on my truck, I built the garage for my camper and truck. No room in there now until I expand it!

Re: Show us where you work on your trucks, Shop tour Thread

Here’s some of my new man cave I had the Mennonite’s build on 42 acres of prime hunting land down the road from my house. It’s nice to have room to spread out my mess and not be in trouble with my “better half”
It’s a slow going work in progress.

Very nice! I am planning on building something one of these years with a lift and space to keep the cars/trucks and stuff.

Thanks. I wish I could of done this 30 years ago. I’d love to put in a BendPak lift, but I’ve already spent about twice what I originally thought building would cost.
I did pay extra for a 6” concrete pour planning for a lift. Don’t overlook thicker concrete if you plan on a lift.

It’s tough working on the cold concrete using a jack and stands when you get old......I know

Re: Show us where you work on your trucks, Shop tour Thread

I saved up for years for my shop. Not too big, and we all know no matter how big you do build it, it always could be bigger. But it keeps my truck out the weather and I have room to work on it, plus a beer fridge.

I can keep the shop pretty free of stored "stuff" since I have another storage shed, in the background here.

I like the covered porch and rocking chair. Nice looking truck. I believe my truck was originally that same shade of green. Mine was originally a highways dept. truck, was yours a fleet truck of any kind?

My wife won't go south for the winters, so she said I could add on to my 40 x 40 workshop. So I added on a 46 x 48 x 14 with in-floor radiant heat, polished floor and Bendpak 13' lift. Wonderful place to be during our Buffalo winters (or any time I want to get away).
