So I'm too big (fat) for a bench seat....
In my '67 C10 I'm looking out the top of the window and the steering wheel in is in my gut. Thinking about after market bucket seats from a Dakota -
Thoughts - problems I may encounter? (no not the teak chairs in the background - but they might be cool) |

Just get some low profile seat brackets for your bench seat

Be careful picking modern seats. They may not look it at first, but a lot of them have thick backrests and all that's going to do is push you closer to the steering wheel. A stock seatback is only maybe 3? inches in width?

You can also collapse the steering column intermediate shaft to get the steering wheel closer to the dash. You can also use a smaller wheel. like 67Chevy said, modern seats usually give less room, not more.

Do a search and you will find threads on how to do it.
