nv3500

Getting ready to start ordering some parts for my 68 c10 and will probably be using a nv3500 trans. My question is will a nv3500 have any clearance issues with a low hump floor pan or will i need a high hump. Thanks.

You will want a high hump. Buy the steel one not the fiberglass one. Any particular reason you're set on an NV3500? I only ask cause i've seen two of them grenade and both the guys who did it said they shoulda just put a tko 500 or 600 in and been done with it.

Thanks. I looked at the tko 500 but wow. 2500.00. My 350 is about 300 hp give or take. I don't plan to burn much rubber and never gonna see 5000 rpm. Have read a lot of post and some like them some don't.

They are not a bad transmission and will hold up to some abuse. They were a used behind the TBI 350s in 2 and 4wd from the factory so that is around 240HP. It was also an option behind a 4.8 LS motor for a year or two. Either be a little easy on it or keep the tires narrow and it should live a long life. This is the same basic transmission used as the last 5spd in jeeps before the 6spd came in.

Mine is about to go in the next couple of weeks, we are trying to keep the low hump and trim/plate as needed so I will let you know how it goes. I don't like the looks of a high hump so I am trying to keep it as low as possible. My motor is also 1/2" higher than stock so this will work against me.
