I need to reseal the retainers for the front output and the rear output. Is it possible to do this with it on the truck if I was to move the cross member out of the way? also the rear retainer is the 8 bolt retainer not the small 5 bolt retainer. Is that doable on the truck or does it need to come out?

Rear output 8 bolt retainer you'll have to be careful with removing the assembly as not to drop the needle bearings into the case. It can be done. I would question the input seal at this point if everything else is bad

The sm465 is my transmission. Its full of oil everytime I check it so I'm sure the seal is prolly fine.

Mine needs it, too. I'll be dropping mine. I figure it's time to do the adapter and transmission, too. Mine's a TH350.

Mark is dead on here. This is a really good write up. I used it for reference when I did the bearings and seals in the 205 in my K20.

Well, once the cross member is out the transfer is as good as out. Nothing in the way of dropping it. Keeping it in is no longer a shortcut. Biggest hassle is unbolting the front shaft, it's in a bad spot, but easy access if you remove the hump. If you are not sure about wrestling the 205 down I can give a couple tips. I do mine on the ground by myself.

I bit the bullet and removed my T case from the truck and have been resealing it. My question is will 90w gl4 oil be fine for this?

Yes use it for both. Gl4 it's better for the synchros in the transmission

Also make sure you use the gaskets no sealant when mounting the adapter to the T case and transmission. Those tolerances are very important

Another also. Some of the bolt holes on the PTO covers are through bolts. You might want to dab a little sealant on the threads. I think a couple bolts on the transmission side of the adapter are through bolts too. Just look at them all. I added a dab of thread sealant to a few of my bolts. I have no leaks, and I am happy.
