18 inch wheels on '72 4wd
The '72 (4wd) has been sitting in my parents garage for 7-8 years, and I'm putting together my to-do list so I can pull it out and get it running again. I know it will need new tires, and I happen to have a set of almost new Michelin defender LTX's sitting in the garage, but they are for an 18 inch wheel (275-60-18 i think).
Does anyone know of an 18" rim that will fit on the stock 44/12 bolt axles? It will probably be a few weeks before I can get up to the vehicle and measure, and I wasn't able to find anything via the search. Thanks for the help! |

If it has the correct lug pattern it should fit no problem. It’s the backspacing and tire size you will have to worry about. Also the hub in the front will have to fit through the hole. I believe it’s 3.5” or 3.75”. Can’t remember for sure.
