Spare Tire Carrier
Can anyone tell me if the under body spare tire carrier is the same for both the 1/2 ton truck and the Suburban? Or are they different? Thanks in advance

Re: Spare Tire Carrier
Yes, the 60-62 spare tire carrier is different because of the frame being wider in the rear.

Re: Spare Tire Carrier
What years did they use this type of carrier?
I found this in my father-in-law's shed. He had a 73 GMC.

Re: Spare Tire Carrier
That looks like it will work. I can say for certain that a 63-66 carrier will work on a 67-72.

Re: Spare Tire Carrier
It looks like they were very similar for the 73+.

Re: Spare Tire Carrier
I was wondering what that piece was. I have one in my pile of parts that came with my truck and had no clue what it would be for. I won't be using it so no worries there!

Re: Spare Tire Carrier
My 62 suburban had an"elevator" system.
A wire with a arm on the bumper to raise and lower it. |
