Another kick panel quetion...
I have read many threads on kick panels but most seem to be several years old. I was curious if anyone has bought kick panels that fit around the dimmer switch. I am wanting to get some but I do not want to move my dimmer switch. I just installed new carpet and I don't want to cut another or bigger hole in the carpet for the switch. I don't really have the skills or tools to build my own.... I was hoping that there have been some advancements in the fit of them over the past several years.
Thanks for the help. |

Re: Another kick panel quetion...
On my sons truck it was tight to get your foot in there when the plastic kick panel was installed with the speaker. So we moved it don’t have to but will be tight.
On my current build I am going to try and keep it in the stock location. I did find a shorter dimmer switch but can’t remember where.

Re: Another kick panel quetion...
the retrosound ones do not fit around the dimmer switch and are a complete garbage quality.

That's what I was worried about, guess I'll mark those off the list. Thanks for your reply.

I have used the retro sound and custom auto sounds and they are the same just plastic. If you make from scratch then custom they will be and then they will fit no problem. I bought mine to cover anyway. Since you asked the question I worked on my builds kick panels and dinner switch. I left the dinner switch in the stock location and it would be hard to hit it with boots on. So I thought about angling it rather moving it. You can see about 1/2” of washers under the driverside bolt. I will make an aluminum block to replace the washers. Also you can see the silver sharpie parks on the top and bottom. I will cut them there and they will fit good. Perfect out of the box...NO WAY but nothing is that is not OEM! I hope this helps.

I would have never thought of trying to angle it like that! Thanks for the idea!
