Ignition switch connector ?
I have looked everywhere, I can't find a source for the plastic connector for the ignition switch. My switch was jury rigged with connectors, and I would like to utilize the factory connector, any help ?
I searched the parts for sale section, and I couldn't find one. |

Re: Ignition switch connector ?
Have you checked with American Autowire?
Or better yet M&H - http://www.wiringharness.com/

I was hoping a member, who has rewired using a new harness, might sell me one. |

Re: Ignition switch connector ?
This is exactly what I have. Thanks for getting me close. But I didn't see where I could purchase the connector.
I may give them a call during the week and see if they offer one. If not I just purchased a 65 C20 today that we may part out. I haven't even looked under the dash but the key looked like it hadn't been messed with. I just didn't want to get in the rat turds with the live rat that was still there to look under the dash. |

PM me you address and I'll get it out from USPS in a day or two. You can somehow remit the postage. I'll never use it, been in my shop for 4 years.

Re: Ignition switch connector ?
You'd think that the 510632 number on they're drawing would indicate a part number they would sell. They have them obviously. Oh I just checked, that's the number for their ignition switch I guess. Not the connector.

It is odd that this one switch seems to have been neglected when it comes to the aftermarket replacement plug. |

Re: Ignition switch connector ?
I finally made it out to the 65 we had picked up. The switch and plug were there.
Now my search is for the brass ends that go on the ends of the wires. I don't want to splice all the wires to this plug. I would like new connectors in the plug on the ends of the wires. Does anyone know where to get these? I would take these out and open them and reuse if I have to but really do not want to go through that.

Re: Ignition switch connector ?
A parts house may have them, I get them from a couple electrical suppliers, or with new harnesses that I install. You can remove the terminal with a flat hair pin or similar if you don’t have the correct tool.
Looking into the connector there is a retaining clip that holds them in place, releasing that will let you get one out for and example at the parts house. If they are without them, send me a picture and I can send you some ... |

Ill try Monday at our better parts houses. I doubt Autozone or O'Reilly will be a good effort.

Re: Ignition switch connector ?
Old thread resurrection...
Is the consensus that this connector isn't readily available? My wiring was hacked up when the p/o put in a universal ignition switch. I'd like to get back to something closer to stock and rewire to the original connector.

Re: Ignition switch connector ?
I just did some digging myself. American Autowire sells the connector along with the terminals eith a switch. Not sure if they would sell it separately.
