Mark IV 454 block
Been hunting around locally here in Dallas area for a reasonably priced block.
Mark IV, standard bore, 2 or 4 bolt mains... There's a long block listed in Dallas but the guy will not give casting #'s, so not sure what's up with that ( 500 bucks ). Another long block in Mid Wist City OK for 450, but too far away. Then there's the Dallas area one for 750 but I'm thinking that's too much money for just the block. I see crusty long blocks asking 1300 on CL. -klb

Re: Mark IV 454 block
Not sure if the demand is different in Texas but I've noticed in the last 10 years or so 454s in boneyards here don't even get pulled anymore, straight to the crusher after a month in the yard. A pull and pay near me got 3 '90 - '91 flatbed duallys all w/454s last summer, really wanted to pick one up to have one just in case. Friend at the yard called me the last day B4 the crusher. They all went to scrap..............
