Re: Help!!! Where does the fluid go in???

They used to supply starter fluid with an applicator for easy installation. Ever since production was moved overseas you can't get the applicator. What's the point of selling starter fluid if you can't use it??? I think the starter rebuilders are behind it all.

BTW, be sure to read your warning labels carefully. I always let my thoughts wander aimlessly when using starter fluid or spray paint.

Start-ER fluid versus start-ING fluid. They should put different colored labels on those cans.

Re: Help!!! Where does the fluid go in???

that's the stuff they recommend for starter rebuild purposes so start by placing an easy chair nearby, recommended to be behind your work area slightly like you could fall into it when things get too involved, then start cleaning, disinfecting, and eventual disassembly of the starter. vice grips or adjustable wrench is recommended. disassemble and lay the parts out in order and take lots of pics because you will need them after using copious amounts of the starter fluid. then spray everything liberally with the fluid, ensuring to spray extra around the starter fluid drain plug in the rear of the housing.
when you wake up go outside and take a deep breath and congratulate yourself for proper chair placement.
order a new starter.

Re: Help!!! Where does the fluid go in???

This is where I fill my aftermarket starter. The dipstick is taped to the side of the can.
