Tube Control arms on 86 C20
My son scored a set of lifted tubular control arms. However, they are for a c10.
We would like to convert them over to use the brakes and keep 8 lug, but:
Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Tube Control arms on 86 C20
The C20 was not loved by the after market.
As far as the hole in the a-arms. I believe you mean the modern type that sets into a socket. My limited knowledge as I found a set a fabtach probably mid travel a-arms in pick a part once, and when I called around. I was told i would have to replace the cup in order to get the ball joint size I needed. I sold them for quite a bit of money, and never looked back. But like i was told you can get the proper ball joint since, and cup as a kit. Then you could have it welded in, and your set. I would use a porta band to extricate the original cup, or a grinder. As for the upper shaft the set I had looked like it would bolt on, and I went no further after finding out about the ball joints. |
