WTB original Blazer Speaker
I’m interested in a nice original under dash mount Blazer speaker (like one in the attached pic). Who has one? Let me know, thanks!

Re: WTB original Blazer Speaker
tap a 9v battery to the soldered connections at the speaker - if it crackles it works. Replacement speakers are available.

Re: WTB original Blazer Speaker
Ya, I need one without the bolts (welded to the bracket type) so it will mount to the dash with the AC controller without conflict. Thanks for replying.

Re: WTB original Blazer Speaker
That style of speaker mounts left of center, approx above gas pedal. Mounts at an angle so it isnt seen. The pic of the one you posted should mount at an angle too. They are almost always bent down like shown.
The brackets for each style are totally different and i believe the left of center speaker is earlier years. |

Re: WTB original Blazer Speaker
Thanks Randy! I want to mount it in the center, so will be taking the bolts off to allow it to mount correctly.

The brackets although similar are completely different. Its not just cut the nuts off and they interchange. If you cut the nuts off, and you flip the brackets it will bolt up but its still not the same. |

Re: WTB original Blazer Speaker
Good pics here of the correct brackets.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=544341 Center brackets are much shorter above the speaker, have rounded ends and do not hang as much below the speaker. Everybody thinks the brackets interchange and thinks the speakers are installed perpendicular to the floor so its visible too. Just trying to help you out, i believe ive seen that your fixing up a nice rig there and figured you would like to know. |
