What's this for on back of intake? 08 5.3 Vortec

Sorry it came out upside down again, errr. Is this circular area with the nut for anything? Just an anchor for the wiring harness maybe? I'm test fitting my reworked harness. Everything is hooking up fine but my harness guy removed any of the original anchor brackets so I've got to figure out optimal routing and anchor it so there's no strain on the connectors.

I think its a "port" that if there is an engine backfire it will pop this out rather than destroy the intake or gaskets….

I'm wondering more what the stud/nut is for. The nut is just hand started on the stud so I assume something was on there.

Well that's interesting. I don't have one. I assume it's not necessary. I probably don't have room anyways. I've repurposed the stud/nut as an anchor point for my wiring harness. Thanks guys.
