Hood Hinges
Going to replace my hood hinges and springs hopefully this will fix my hood raising in the back problem.
Were is the cheapest place to get these? I saw some chrome ones for 67-72 wondering if anyone has ever seen these for our year? Thanks

hood hinge
had the same problem..took the hinge off & drilled out the large
main rivet to 1/2 inch..put in a grade 5 1/2 inch bolt with double nuts to lock it snug. then i took a small round file & slotted the adjustment slots another 1/4 inch..installed hood with fender bolts loose..propped hood as high as it would go & tightened bolts. hood closed perfect in rear!! good luck gordy

hinge
by propping the hood up and then tightening the fender bolts
you set the adjustments..when the hood closes the hinge reverses and pulls the hood down..also put folded blanket under rear corner of hood & tie hood so it can't scratch cowl with hinge off!! good luck gordy

Thanks for your help also do you think I should just replace hinges or springs also?
Not sure if the springs help it stay done or not? Also I have a slight bow in hood have seen kits to fix this do they work?

hinge
i would try the cure on the hinges first before replacing it would
be alot cheaper..if it works take the money you saved & buy a good used hood. by the time you buy the kit to fix hood & have the body work & painting done you would be way ahead! hoods bow because the hinges have become dry & rusty from lack of lubrication. good luck what state are you from? gordy
