Need help buying and shipping a door to Europe

Hi guys,

Im in a bit of a bind. I need a passenger side door for my 83 c10. My current door is beyond repair. I have contacted a few distributors about shipping me a door to Austria, but they are asking $800 + just for shipping.

Does anyone have any leads on overseas shipping at a reasonable price. Then I could just find an OEM door and have it shipped, or even have the distr. send a door to a US address and then use whatever shipping company I can find at a reasonable price.

Thanks for any help or ideas

Paul

Dang that's insanity. If they need a physical address and you can arrange it to be shipped and picked up you can use my work address and I can receive and protect it for you until it gets picked back up.

Thanks I appreciate the offer. My folks still live in the US so I have an address to ship to. Just need to figure something out with shipping.

Know anyone making a flight across the pond? Pretty sure an empty door is under the 50lb weight limit although they would likely get hit with an oversized fee.

Actually I do have someone coming over, i am just worried that the door will get hammered through the flying process. I fly a lot and I have seen how bad they handle luggage. I could see the new door showing up worse than my original.

Having made Delta 4 million miler over the last three decades I can second that.

I've gotten five replacement Pelican 1620 cases in the last decade. Those cases are made pretty tough but the baggage gorillas like to play football with them.

Blazerparts.de has some doors for a reasonable Price in South Germany right now.
You might check Ebay Kleinanzeigen for his listing. I´m sure he can ship them to you for a few bucks or maybe even pick up is possible for you
