OT: Going in for surgery

As most of you know I'm not the smallest of guys for sure LOL. Well I've been working on finally winning the battle of the bulge and I'm going in for surgery to win it. I'll be going in right before Christmas (heck of a present) to have it done. It's the same surgery that Al Roker from the Today show on NBC had done. Here's the website on the surgery http://www.bariatric.com/ I'll be losing the weight fast once the surgery is done. I'll be taking photos week to week to show the progress. I'll be able to catch up on here alot more than I've been with my free time becoming more available post surgery while I'm healing. This will be the start of my new healthier and lighter self. If you have any questions on the surgery the website has some great articles on how it's done and also some before and after pics of people who have had it done. My cousin also had this surgery had looks wonderful She just wishes she had done it sooner. I'm just glad I'm able to get it done as well and start my new life

Good luck B! I have heard of that procedure and it is pretty radical, but it does what it supposed to. Hope it all works out well for you, you will be in my prayers!

Keep us posted!

My aunt just lost her best friend because of that. She had the surgery done then kept eating the same way. Something went wrong and she ended up starving to death. Do not know the facts, just what I was told. There may be some lawsuit out of this one. Just be careful and follow the doctors orders!!!

You will loose a lot of weight quickly and it will have affects on you and your body.

Good luck!!!!!

Best of luck to you Brandon. I'm glad everything worked out the way you planned.

The guys are right and as I'm sure you know too, it is serious surgery. Follow everything the doctor tells you to do. To the letter. If you don't you will end up making yourself sick. I knew this woman who had the surgery back when it first started, years ago. She was big, about 250 and 5' 3" tall. She would try to force herself to eat because, as she put it, she was starving to death. Well, when she tried to force herself to eat, she would turn right around and throw it back up.

You will loose weight and loose it at lightning speed. Just be careful and don't be stupid. We prefer to keep you around.

Mike

Brandon:

Good luck with the surgery, and with what will follow! I will echo the thoughts of the others with respect to following the doctor's orders...but you are such a thoughtful- -and positive- -person that I imagine you will handle yourself just fine.

I, like everyone else, will be looking forward to your updates!
