My zr10 build-ls9 combo
Here some info on a build I'm rolling with. All garage built, except paint haha. Follow along and visit the Instagram page. @70_zr10
This truck was an original arizona truck, I purchased from a man in Michigan. Truck had a sbc 350 and tk0600 5 speed. I've decided to install a supercharged ls9 from a 2011 zr1 a buddy had an accident in. Think I'm going with a t56 trans, but haven't decided yet. Check it out Here's some pictures of a few years back when I out the truck on air ride and replaced the rockers and partial floor. |

Some surface rust, but nothing bad. Truck was originally sea foam green.

Re: My zr10 build-ls9 combo
Ive been planning this build for 6 months at this point. I visited LST a few weekes avo with the purpose of finding a chassis. After looking at GSI, scotts hotrods and Acme chassis. I decided to go with Griffin at Acme Chassis Factory. Griffin answered all my questions and concerns on the build. Build time is 8-12 weeks about 3 weeks ago.
Also at this point I already collected a bunch of parts as I didn't plan to put it under a chassis. I had a fan 9 moser rear built for the truck, griffin let me ship it to him and he would build around it and weld/mount everything on it. That's some good customer service! |

Re: My zr10 build-ls9 combo
That’s gonna be bad ass. I dabble in the late Camaro and vette stuff quite a bit. That LS9 is An animal. That truck is gonna be a monster. Shame to see that ZR1 killed they are amazing cars.

Re: My zr10 build-ls9 combo
It sure was. I had a stock 2013 zr1 for a couple years. I got the truck and the car just didn't move, so I sold it. It's actually the main reason for this build. Lot's of cool stuff going to happen. Going to push and try to get this project done bye LST in conroe next February.

Apologize for the screen shots. Easiest way to snag them.
Went with Wilwood setup on the master cylinders. Manual way, better work these calves out 😂. Decided to tilt the dash out some. |

Re: My zr10 build-ls9 combo
With covid going on my chassis got delayed. Accuair went under and I decided to swap over to coil over. Chassis is amazing. Not scratching it sucks.
Got with Jeff at Bowler and went with their built t56 magnum, mcloed clutch, tilton slave and quicktime bell. This unit will end up with the S1 sequential shifter before im done. Fuel cell was fabricated and sump to fit the Aeromotive eliminator pump. We had to shorted the intake tube 2" as well for the unit to fit. Pump is a beast. Have alot parts on order still waiting to come in. That is all.... |

That's going to be a fun ride and look cool doing it. What tires did you go with and what size are they?

Got some NOS front fenders. From a guy in Alvin, tx and started mocking up the core. Core will need some heavy mods so I can tuck the radiator and have room for the snout and intake assembly. Went with the Concept one Max rib 10 ls9 pulley setup. Just waiting for that to arrive so I can fit some more Next is fitting the vintage unit, radiator, dry sump system and then into the steering and inner fenders. Going with Vanatta fab stuff. Time to get off my butt. |
