67-72 inner cab corner question

Hi again guys,

I had my rocker panels done on my 69 C20 and as I started working on the sound deadening the interior I saw daylight in the pockets of the inner cab corners of both. It's where the rocker panel ends and the cab body starts. See the pictures in my link to my Google photos.

Is this normal?

No, that's not normal, seems the inner rocker panels were not installed fully or were not repaired during the work.

Take it back to whomever did the work....

If they say its supposed to be like that, find another repairer.

If you are talking about the back edge of the rocker where it meets the cab corner. There is a gap there. They do not fasten together. A bead of seam sealer should be put there.

Each to their own.

I always make sure these panels are fully welded together....the gaps shown in the pics show there is at least a 1/4" gap....the end of the inner rocker panel is not present....

Fill it with seam sealer of you like, its your truck.

Check out various utube videos for rocker replacement on these trucks...the two panels are always together...

You are wrong. And youtube is not a restoration nor factory fitment source.

The gap is always there and should be filled with seam sealer.
The rear cab corner where it meets the rocker doesn't even have a folded lip. Factory put a huge blob of seam sealer in that location to fill the gap.

The above is 100% correct, seam sealer was used by factory to fill this space.

I would agree, In the rear cab corners I can see daylight, down under the the cab. I had to pull some of that old broken up crap out of there.

That is what I have stock. What I would like may be different.

Thank you all for your replies. I'll get some seam sealer and do it the factory way. I'm grateful for this forum and I am sure I'll be back to ask more.
