Help to ID hood ornament on my ‘50 3600

This hood bird was on my 50 when I purchased it and it’s obviously been there for a long long time. It fits the hood perfectly, wondering if this might of been a dealer accessory or if one of you recognize it from its vehicle of origin?

Re: Help to ID hood ornament on my ‘50 3600

Looks exactly like this one listed for a 48 Fleetmaster https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-194....c100677.m4598

A search shows that there were a bunch of almost the same but slightly different ornaments for 47/48 Chev cars.

I'm not a fan of hood ornaments or other gee gaws stuck on AD trucks but that looks like it grew there from the get go and probably has been on the truck just about that long maybe being dug out of the dealer's parts bins when the truck was sold new.

Thanks for the replies! Nice to know the original application. It is such a neat looking piece on the truck and now I know it is era correct. It will definitely stay!

A lot of that decorating seems to have been regional as you seldom if ever saw an AD truck around here with hood ornament or visor until the lowrider brigade showed up unless the truck had come from the Ozarks with fruit picker. The farmers and ranchers here didn't pay extra for much of anything in those days outside of a Deluxe heater.
