Vent window rubber. Inside or out?

Does the vent window seal go inside the door or on the outside. I've seen them both ways. What is correct?

Thanks Terry, That's what I was thinking,
The ones I removed were on the outside but they didn't look right.

Yep, Inside the door, if there is a Gap between the door and the rubber you can use a rubber shim the length of the bottom of the seal to fill it in.
