5.3 swap
I am sure this has been covered many places but my last search didn't prove to be fruitful.
I am in the process of planning a 5.3 swap (from a 2001 Silverado) and need to know if the stock 5.3 exhaust manifolds fit in a 72 Blazer 4x4? Thanks in advance! |

Re: 5.3 swap
Very much new to this, but I am in the process of a similar swap. My understanding is that the stock manifolds will not fit without trimming the frame rails. I went with the Speed Engineering mid-length headers which fit great and were a good deal in my opinion. May want to look at the LS Swap section. There are a lot of threads there dealing with exhaust.
Hope that helps. |

Re: 5.3 swap
The research I have done shows the trailblazer SS and the newer camaro manifolds will work in the blazers without trimming.

Re: 5.3 swap
I also used speed engineering headers with a gen iv LS, along with a dirty dingo engine crossmember as the stock 4x4 crossmember does not work

Re: 5.3 swap
Pacific Fab Crossmember and TrailBlazer Manifolds work. I think they are offered by Dorman

Re: 5.3 swap
The stock truck manifolds will not work because they dump right on top of the frame rails. I used late model Camaro (2015) manifolds and they fit perfectly.
