Transfer case ID help
Swapping transfer cases and noticed the difference between the two. The one on the right came from my running donor ls/th350 combo. Don't know what the additional attachment on it is for. The one on the left came from the parts vehicle and I'm pretty sure it's a 205. Should I go with the running donor and the unknown transfer or swap

Re: Transfer case ID help
My guess is aa PTO unit, 205, what does the front of it look like, maybe a drive shaft knuckle?

Re: Transfer case ID help
Having problems with photos but it does have a shaft with a keyway slot so I'm thinking PTO also. Any value to this or just extra weight if not used

Re: Transfer case ID help
Both cases are NP205's. The one on the right has a PTO on it, chances are it was used to run a winch or hydraulic pump. They're more common to have mounted to a manual transmission but since a TH350 doesn't have a provision for a PTO they used the T-case.

Re: Transfer case ID help
Just take it off and put a cover back on it. Good chance to take a peek at the gears and other internals too.

Re: Transfer case ID help
Yup, take it off along with the studs and use the plate from the other case to plug the hole. Looks like you may have it sold already...if not I'll buy it from you.
