Finished front axle rebuild
Thanks to everyone for the help throughout the process of rebuilding my front axle. There was alot of trial and error but everything turned out great and it drives so smooth now. The pictures show the before and after. Everything is new on the axle. The only thing left to do is replace the seal on the diff. I pulled the cover and the oil looked great along with the ring and pinion . I just wanted to thank all those that helped with advice. This forum is the best tool I have. I will be doing the rear axle next. I have the eaton back there and that ring and pinion looks excellent too. I also was able to fix the leak from the speedo cable. However I still have a couple small leaks I am trying to locate. Anyway thanks everyone .

Re: Finished front axle rebuild
I bought a new nut with the small “o-ring” already installed. I also bought an extra o-ring and the little installer tool for it. The o-ring and tool were cheap. That damn nut was 50 bucks though. This is the only place that still has them and makes them. It was well worth the 50 bucks.
Here is the link. If you go to the search bar for our year truck u will also find the little o ring that goes inside this nut. This was one of the best purchases I made. Fixed the leak instantly https://torqueking.com/product/30091...e-adapter-nut/ |

Re: Finished front axle rebuild
I have a post in the 4x4 section about buying a seal for 7.00 and installing it in your existing nut if anyone is interested. Pretty easy to do and is alot cheaper.
