I made it!!!!
Just wanted to say Hi and let everyone know I made it to Texas!!!
Whewww, finally done with the Marine Corps. Time to start the next chapter of my life with My wife and daughter!! I loaded all of my belongings in the truck and drove her from California to Texas with only 1 small problem. In the middle of the Arizona desert the fuel line going into the fuel pump decided to leak. I was getting about 12-13Mpg before (around 250 miles per tank) cruising around 80- 85 Mph (around 4k on tach). We were at 200 miles on the odometer(Fuel gauge still acting up) and poof out of gas!!! I finally got some reception on the cell phone and had roadside bring me 5 gallons of gas. Cost me 10 bucks and 45 min wait, roadside is soooo worth it!!! Drove 20 miles to the next town (after I really torqued down the fuel line) and filled her up. She ran great after that. Sorry to ramble on, but it feels good to be home!!! BTW: After that long trip my truck seems to run better now than ever before!! Wierd!!! She's awesome off the line now. I wonder if it was the long trip, or the air down here? Thanks for reading!!! Shawn

Thanks for all of the great replies!!!!
Suicide-D, I'm around the corner from you!! Cypress in Harris county!! Maybe we can get together sometime later after I'm settled back in. Randy70C-10, I already grew my goatee!!!! I kinda like the medium reg though, I might keep some kind of variant of it. It's definately been a long 5 years, but in hindsight it was worth it!!!

dtlilly,
Thanks for the kind words, but I would be remise and flogged by my fellow former Marines if I didn't correct you. We are not soldiers, we are Marines (Army guys are soldiers). (Listen to me, I sound like I'm gonna Re-enlist......NOT. I'm out, but there is still a lot of Pride!!). To answer your question I am still considered inactive reserve for the next 3 years. I might get around to checking in with them later. dinnut, that sounds like a good idea!!! Randy70C-10, Thank-You Jesus!!!

yellow72custom,
Yes it is fun!! No matter how much the wife gets on my case for buying parts, she loves it just as much as I do when somebody says ' nice truck' or gives us the thumbs up on the interstate. Paul72, I don't know yet what the next chapter is. I'm looking for a good jo, but in the meantime I'm spending some time with my 17 month old daughter. I left for Iraq when she was 6 months old, and I moved the wife and her back home to Texas before I left. So even when I came back from Iraq, they were still in Texas and I was in Cali. I'm trying to make her a Daddy's girl!! I think I might be succeeding!!!!
