Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Thanks guys. I could use at least one more aiming for two each of the shorter one that’s about 6.5” long and the longer one that’s about 12” long. Mine are frayed pretty good.
Here’s a pic of the longer one.

Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Pete,
This is all I could find at the moment. Short one is around 10" and the longer ones are 12-13" .

Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Gunner thanks I’d give those a try for the engine grounds if they have one connector that’s open not an intact hole to slip onto the valve cover screw. Richard I’m thinking the shorter one would be useful for cab to frame ground on my k20 and a long one could be used to ground the bed. I used thin asphalt pads between the frame and the bed and would like to add a ground there. My hazard lights stop blinking when I press the brake pedal - thinking ground might fix this as the wiring is all new.
Let me know what you guys need for the straps. Thank you.

Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Deadhead, I found a couple good short ones. I see there are two lengths of long ones, 10 1/2 and 12"?? I am wondering if there are longer ones for BB or 4x4 ?? Will send PM. Chuck

Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Thanks Mike!
Chuck that’s a great question. The oem engine grounds for my 4wd are easily 12” and can be stretched out further than that. 4wd engines sit closer to the firewall so I’d think these would be shorter. There’s got to be some reason to account for the differences. Here’s an excerpt I found here from the factory assembly manual - looks like a sb v8. I’ll try to find the page and see if there are more details therein.

Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Just to let you know Pete. Hazards do stop blinking when you hit brake pedal. They are utilizing the same filament in the.bulb. Brake light portion. Turn signals and brake lights are same function on the bulb as well as 4 ways. Running lights are the other filament. I think on all vehicles they stop blinking when you depress brake. Nothing wrong with wiring. But cant have to many grounds.

Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Lol! Lois thanks for letting me know. I swapped out the intermediate harness and tail lamp housings. Have to admit I’ve never tried the brake with the hazards on before making this change so figured it was a ground.

Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Did you get fixed up on ground straps?
My C10 has a 10" on the passenger side and a thick one, like in post #4 on the drivers side. My K10 has 10" straps on both sides as does my Longhorn. Pictures of the K10.

Re: WTB: OEM ground straps
Larry thanks I believe I’m all set. I appreciate the photos and these point to variation in ground strap use by GM.
