Front sheet metal issues
Hey. I’m fixing a 67 c10. But have front sheet metal issues. I bought goodmark fenders. Installed. But with grill in place now my headlight buckets are not centred. Anyone have this issue?? They sit too far in. Tried two different original grilles. Original rad support. No idea what to do.

Use the "Go Advanced" button below, that should bring up any pics saved on your phone or computer...You'll have to take the pics and then download them to your computer. I don't have a smart phone so I don't know how to post off a phone...?

Re: Front sheet metal issues
They are reproduction 67 fenders. Its more where the grille side meets the headlight. Way too tight there

See how the pot sits too far inward. I can’t put the headlight bezel on

Re: Front sheet metal issues
Is just a matter of an optical allusion because the headlight bucket is adjusted extremely inward. Try using the adjustment screws to ensure bucket is more co-planar to the front grille. Could it also be that you have the LH bucket in the RH position? The headlight buckets are handed. Just throwing out thoughts.

Re: Front sheet metal issues
Well i tried adjusting and reversing side to side. It’s strange because the bezels fit nice until the pots are installed

Re: Front sheet metal issues
If both buckets seem to be offset to the center of an OE support I wonder if the radiator support is pushed inward in the middle possibly from past front end damage. That gap between the hood and grille in the middle looks suspect. More pics may help.

Re: Front sheet metal issues
I was wondering about that too. The rad support is straight though. Here is a pic of the nose

Re: Front sheet metal issues
It is a bit cross eyed isn't it?
Does the hood latch down alright and the hood center point line up over the center point of the grille? I have heard of a guy drilling out the spot welds and moving the bucket mounts over to line them up using an aftermarket rad support but never with a OE one.

Re: Front sheet metal issues
Seems to line up otherwise. There is slight gap issues from fenders to hood but i think it’s because jobber fenders. I was thinking about making sure the sheetmetal is aligned and moving the headlight mounts as well. Just bit sure why with an oem grille and rad support

Re: Front sheet metal issues
But if your rad support and grille are OE then the buckets ought to line up better than that. The mismatch is toward the grille side, not the fender side. Maybe Mike (member 3757chevy) could be of help as he recently put a 67 front clip together on his.

Re: Front sheet metal issues
Looking at your headlight bucket placement suggests its not a 67 68 possibly a 69 to 72
My only 68 I have is a Gmc so I can not use that as a measurement to see if the headlight bucket shifts on the 69 72 rad supports Left pic is a 67 68 rad support and the right pic is a 69 72 support you can see the 67 68 are a nice round backing area where the 69 72 are more off centre keystone shape |

Re: Front sheet metal issues
This is a Chevy factory 67 core support , 67 factory fender and 67 factory grille mocked up , It looks like your using the later core support ?
