Door Jamb Switch

For those of you who either have factory door jamb switches or have added them, where are they located? Do they run through the headlight switch?

My 72 CST has a single wall top with dome lights, but they only operate through the headlight switch. I'm rewiring it right now, and I'd like to add lights on the roll bar and under dash lights, as well as lighting the map lights in the mirror. Your pin locations as well as any wiring suggestions are appreciated.

I recently replaced the non-working pins on 2 of my trucks. On some trucks, I think there is a small pad that bumps out on the a-pillar that they go into. I would need to check as the holes were already there - just the pins had gone bad and were no longer grounding.

They should tie into the 'courtesy light' /dome light harness under the dash. You can add the CL harness if you don't have it.

Pin location thread - I need to check mine and see where they are compared to the hinges.

Update with a pic of the new pin I installed and the 'pad' that bumps out on the A-pillar.

It is about even with the fresh air vent handle when pulled back.

Thanks! I hadn't noticed it before, but my Blazer has those as well. The previous owner had used it to pass a speaker wire to the doors. Looks like a good spot.
