Shortened wiper motor

Is there any such thing as a shortened or smaller wiper motor (original option or aftermarket) for our trucks. More wanting to know for the 4-5-6 dashes. I’m looking to eventually cut out the ash tray and install the center a/c box and duct. The wiper motor seems to take up lots of space considering an a/c box, duct, radio strap and speaker are all supposed to be in the same space. (I won’t put the dash speaker back in but) it seems too little a space for all that to fit.

Any of you guys know of a smaller and better option?

In the event you do still want to change that motor, you might try New Port Engineering for all things "wiper".

Re: Shortened wiper motor

Thanks guys for the information and suggestions. I checked out a few of the older A/C threads as well as the one for nsb29's vent box, and I saw more photos of what you are talking about.

I also checked out New Port Eng website. The flat mount motor they have for our trucks looks like it is a different shape. Where mine (and the one in the pictures above) looks more rectangular, theirs is more cylindrical. Is the box a separate housing or mounting bracket over the motor itself, or is the NP motor a different shape?

As you can guess, this is my first time ever fooling with these...so it will probably make a fool out of me.

NP motor is a different shape altogether.

Re: Shortened wiper motor

One thing to think about is the vent box I made is designed to clear Deluxe controls wiper motor and leave room for a factory style speaker or speakers There is no guarantee that it would clear the wiper motor you pictured

Re: Shortened wiper motor

Their website says there is two types of motors, Im dealing with the motor on a 61 at the moment and can say the mount is different than the one Rocknrod posted up.
